Artworks
Front cover – ‘Suilven and Lochinver’ by the renowned Scottish painter Hamish MacDonald. Hamish has been Sheila’s favourite artist for as long as I can remember. I was desperate to have one of his paintings for the cover of the album. He very kindly agreed and chose this one himself.
Page one – photograph of Sheila taken by me at Scott’s View, Melrose in the 1990s. Our two older children were born in Melrose and this is where we had our first home.
Pages four & five – ethereal view over Loch Portree taken by my colleague Charlie Crichton. His view really sums up the magical essence of Skye.
Page eight – ‘Woman with Glaciers’ by Ross Henriksen. Originally from Portree Ross now lives in Germany and his work deserves to be better known than it is.
Back cover – view over Bowmore on Islay taken by me during our time living there in 1995.
